Join us as we celebrate 40 years of compassion, community, and second chances at the 40th Anniversary Celebration for SHAID Tree Animal Shelter!

Founded in 1986, SHAID Tree Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter dedicated to providing safe, compassionate care for animals in need. We offer a temporary haven for stray, abandoned, and surrendered pets while working tirelessly to match them with loving, responsible homes.

In 2025 alone, together we were able to help 417 cats and dogs find safety, medical care, and — most importantly — hope. Every animal represents a life changed because of kindness, generosity, and the belief that every animal matters.

Come celebrate this special milestone with us on June 14th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM! Enjoy a BBQ, meet some of our adoptable cats, tour the shelter, and spend time with the amazing volunteers who make our work possible every day.
We hope you’ll join us for a fun and meaningful day as we celebrate 40 years of helping animals and the wonderful community that continues to support us.
Join SHAID at Pet Valu Chester for a special Adoption Event & Pop-Up Shop!
Stop by on June 13th from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM and June 14th from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM to meet some of our wonderful adoptable cats, shop SHAID merchandise, and chat with our staff and volunteers. Whether you’re looking to adopt, support local rescue efforts, or simply spend time with some adorable feline friends, we’d love to see you there.
Our team will be onsite throughout the event to answer questions about adoption, volunteering, fostering, and the work we do for animals in need. Come say hello, support shelter animals, and help us continue making a difference in the lives of cats and dogs in our community!
